Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

That stupid licensed(! ) Windows died again today in the morning when I wanted to scan. Never had such problems when I used pirate versions. Now I can perfectly understand people who abuse Microsoft so much.
At the same time I can't draw, can't write or answer comments fast and have not so much time to restore my comp again....
Though I have second Windows (from the same disc ) that is still working. But there are not much programms installed.

Дурацкая лицензионная(! ) винда опять сдохла. Как раз сегодня утром, когда я пыталась отсканить один документик. И ведь никогда не было подобных проблем с пиратскими версиями. Как я теперь понимаю тех, кто так матерится на мелкомягких!
Соответственно сейчас я не могу ни рисовать, ни толком комментировать или отвечать на комменты, пока не восстановлю комп. Кстати, на это тоже нет времени....
Впрочем, пока жива вторая винда, установленная с того же диска. Правда, там почти нет никаких программ.

For Mac you have only the money problem.

Hahah I have noticed that with your journal I can improve my Russian

Its fun to read it in russian and what I do not understand to peak the english

just find some stable pirate version and use it at home. For photoshop and other adobe programs I recommend you - Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition - for 7 months no problem and it ware 7 months working.

I can write some more in Russian sometimes. Anyway it's not exact translation - in Russian I like to use sentences I can't translate exactly

Anyway if you want I can speak Russian with you and translate what you will not understand

I also have pirate version of Windows XP I used for some years. Yes, I had some small troubles with it, but it had to be so - I installed it with Windows 2000 and they didn't like each other very much

Yeah, and it's great even if you don't need it

Just to know you can find it any time you need

money problem = true...
a starting price on a Mac is 1 grand.. that's for an iMac. I wouldn't talk about miniMac b/c they're not really something big. Starting price on a G5 Tower is what 2500? that's crazy... But, the quality is worth the cash
